Whatever your age or skin type, thorough skincare is the best defense against sun, wind, central heating or chemicals such as chlorine. Here are some top tips on keeping your skin hydrated during the colder months:
Interview a professional
Find your skin type from a professional before deciding on the best products. It doesn’t have to be expensive, you can arrange an assessment in the beauty section of many stores. Think about what brand you may want to invest in and request an assessment and some free samples.
Find the right product and begin a routine
Once you know your skin type, take some time to find the right products for you – something oil-free for oily skin or odorless for sensitive skin, etc.. get counseling and try free samples until you are glad you found a brand that suits your skin. Once you are happy with a product using it regularly. Clean, change the tone and moisturize morning and night skin and exfoliate at least once a week.
Protect your skin
Find a day cream that includes at least an SPF of 15. Do not use this night as it can clog your pores, but it will provide valuable protection during the day. If you can’t find a suitable cream with base mineral powder SPF test, which will create a barrier between your skin and the elements.
Don’t forget your body
Your skin is your largest organ and look after all of it! Wear warm clothing in colder months to prevent moisture loss and chapped skin. Moisturize immediately after your bath to lock moisture inside with good skin secretions. Pay special attention to areas like your knees and elbows and go for moisturisers contain vitamin A and E to nourish your skin.
Start now
It’s never too early to predict a good skincare regime and start protecting your skin today!
